I am a graduate student at the Australia National University, studying Art History and Curatorship at the School of Art and Design.
My thesis is on Julia Margaret Cameron's photographs taken in Ceylon from 1875 to 1879. While Cameron’s work has been subject to extensive analysis, these, her last photographs, are little known and less admired. Using historical and post-colonial discourses and archival sources, I trace Cameron's life in Ceylon, bringing new insights and reframing existing knowledge and narratives.
Before studying Art History, I had a career in corporate finance and restructuring, with degrees in Economics from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and an MBA from the University of Warwick, UK.
